Abandoned by Louis XIV for his new palace at Versaille & arrested from the hands of Louis XVI during the French Revolution of 1789; the once palace was placed in the hands of the 'common person' and its treasures for all to enjoy - 1 minute on every piece in this, the largest museum in the world, would mean you are looking at artifacts for 4 months :)
The Louvre was brilliant, just brilliant.
