We visited the Catacombes towards the end of our day in Rome. It was incredible to see graves from the 3rd and 4th Centuries that housed many Christians. Many beheaded for their conversion and their confession of faith. This was prior to Emperor Constantine declaring Rome accepting of Christians.
We were not able to photograph the Catacombes so I have included a really helpful link of the this post in the introductory sentence.
