In the seventies Paris had a Mayor who wanted to overturn many years of buidling code practice in Paris City and build buildings taller than Notre Dame. During his tenure he managed only one such project and to this day the ONLY skyscraper in Paris City that is taller than Notre Dame exists in Montparnasse, about 5 minutes walk from our hotel.
