Lucerne - Lion Monument
We visited this monument in Lucerne, Switzerland which stands as a memorial to the several hundred Swiss Soldiers who lost their lives defending Marie Antoinette and her children during the French Revolution. This stands in their honour. Interesting to note that Switzerland don't have a standing army in the sense that we do, or the USA. They are however, incredible soldiers and lend their prowess to other nations of the world. As we speak Swiss guards are protecting certain areas of Vatican City - this is the tradition that is remembered in this monument.
With us is our Guide, Brian Ridley. We are having a brilliant Tour primarily due to Brian's experience and skill in Tour Managing.
