Florence - Michaelangelo's David

As we were unable to take photos inside the exhibition, the above two are both from the Web

We spent a visually stunning night and day in the City of Florence where we first visited the Academy of FIne Arts. At this school we were able to see many significant works of Art but most specifically, as you can see, we sat in awe and in front of Michaelangelo's David which was an amazing experience. A short summary:

Sculptured over 3 years from 1501 - 1503 [Making David 502 years old]
369 of those years David spent outside in the Florentine Main Square [where a copy now stands]
His move indoors is only a 10 minute walk down the street; It took 7 days
Daivd is 5.16 metres tall
David weighs 6 tons
Michaelangelo's genuis is testified by him being only 26 - 29 years old when he completed this work of art [Don't let anyone despise you because of your Youth - Bible]
