Highlights from today inlcude the magnificent Cologne Cathedral, the 1322, 300 year project and the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world. I remain stunned that people have embarked on a building project that when they started they know would take 12 generations to complete. In actual fact the whole project wasn't completed until the 1870's and in WWII 95% of Cologne was bombed by Allied Forces but the Cathedral was deliberately left in tact.
The Rhine River Cruise where we viewed Castles many hundreds of years old, now all owned by the State and used as Tourist attractions, hotels or places to eat - very classy and exciting.

How amazing...I am loving visiting Europe vicariously through your travels. So, so beautiful - thanks for sharing it with us. All is well in Vancouver, it's a beautiful day at the beach even though it is just 8C.
We love you...John and Helen xx
