We spent the better part of Day 13 traveling back form Paris to London. Timed perfectly by our guide Brian we landed in London with time to catch a taxi to our hotel in Paddington Hyde Park Paddington and began to explore. Just up the street a two couples asked us for directions so I got my map out and showed them where Edgeware Road was....problem was one of them had lived in London for 23 years and still didn't know.
We are now in our paddington Hotel. If you are thinking of coming to London I firstly recommend friends for accommodation, failing that try hotels.com - stay in the 4 star range but be prepared to be 'just outside' the City Circle like we are - a good saving and only a short bus or Tube ride to everything. You can get a bus/tube pass which covers your travel and there are plenty of Cafes for English Breakfasts and Pubs for English Dinners. Mind that in Europe smoking is still permitted in restaurants.
